The Daniel Laurent Christian Ministries, Community Development Corporation had a very productive end-year trimester, dated from September through December. Remaining faithful to our stated mission, we have been thoroughly involved in the community, especially in as troubled a time as the past three months. Indeed the events of September 11, 2001 marked an unprecedented time in the history of this country, and it required a response that too was to be special in nature. Such response had to have love at its basis, but not without deeds of courage, unity and hope. What we report here constitute activities that underscore such a response.

On September 24, 2001, approximately two weeks following the terror that claim the lives of thousands and afflicted other tens of thousands, DLCMCDC, under the leadership of Dr. Laurent, convened the community of Millbourne in a special service of prayer and remembrance for the victims of September 11^th 2001. Approximately 200 individuals, from various religious and civic entities, responded to this special convocation, held at the Borough of Millbourne. We came together to not only remember and pray but to also unite under the Divine banners of love, courage, and hope. The memorial service was highlighted by a special address by Dr. Laurent, a community prayer for the victims of terror, performances by the daughters of Dr. Laurent, and special speeches by Yves Anty and David Michel, both members of the DLCMCDC Corporation. Finally, a special offering was collected and DLCMCDC gave a check of $100.00 to the Red Cross. That humble donation was just the beginning of the many steps toward the ministry of giving and helping others in need.

DLCMCDC also coordinated a Holidays gathering at the Borough of Millbourne. The purpose of this event was to congregate the community of Millbourne in a special service to celebrate this year’s holiday season in a special way, in a context of remembrance of the events of September 11. As for the September 24 Memorial Service, Dr. Laurent presided with a special address, and Yves Anty and David Michel also made notable speeches to commemorate this special Holiday Season.
